Life on the campus of The University of Texas at Austin is marked with numerous academic ceremonies, official occasions and community programs that are an integral fabric of the institution. These University-Wide Events are held annually to bring our vast and diverse community together. Confirmed dates for events are listed where available. Gone to Texas

Main Mall
Join President Jay Hartzell, along with other new students, for Gone to Texas, the University’s official welcome to your new home. Gone to Texas is a powerful rite of passage held on the Main Mall in front of the UT Tower, the site of your future graduation. Not to be missed, this unique celebration is a rich tradition for all new students to assemble together and formally mark your arrival as the newest members of The University of Texas community.
